CBD Oil For Anxiety

Researchers have been investigating the benefits of using CBD oil for a variety of conditions. CBD stands for Cannabidiol, which is one of the two primary compounds found in the marijuana plant. Unlike THC, CBD oil is effective at small doses and doesn’t produce the same euphoric high.

Many studies have investigated the effects of CBD oil on neurocognitive disorders such as anxiety and depression. Clinical studies have found that CBD may possess antipsychotic properties.

In one trial looking at individuals suffering from a social anxiety disorder, a 600-milligram dose of CBD oil reduced anxiety and cognitive impairment. In a similar experiment, it was also found a 300-milligram dose of CBD oil also reduced symptoms of anxiety during public speaking. However, it was also shown that using a 100 or 900-milligram dose had little to no benefit. Suggesting that too much or too little can affect the potential effectiveness of using CBD oil against anxiety.

A paper was published in a respected medical journal entitled Cannabidiol as a Potential Treatment for Anxiety Disorders. The authors studied 49 preclinical, clinical, epidemiological, and neuroimaging studies to determine whether CBD had a role as a potential treatment option for anxiety-related disorders. They concluded that CBD oil effectively reduced anxiety behaviors relevant to multiple disorders, including PTSD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder. They also found a lack of anxiogenic effects, meaning CBD did not add to anxiety symptoms.

A three-month study of 103 adults found that nearly 80 percent of the participants who were given CBD oil reported improved anxiety symptoms, which remained improved for the study duration.
