Marijuana drug test

The marijuana drug test has been around for years now. Even with the changes in the legality of marijuana in various states, there is little change when it comes to drug tests. This definitely sends a sense of panic to most users. If you are using products low in THC like Symbiotic Nutritionals, it may not show on the test. They often find it hard to use marijuana for some ailments and still pass the drug test.

The marijuana drug test has protocols that are about utilizing the antibodies so as to detect THC and also its metabolite. The antibodies will attach to the THC. This is then reflected in the drug screeners. Having more THC in the system means you are likely to have a hit when it comes to testing.

The good news is that the antibodies do not attach to CBD. In the case where there are low or no levels of THC, then the drug test is likely to yield a negative result in the urine or blood.

It is common to find in some cases blood tests being preferred. This is because blood tests are found to be more accurate. Well, the hair tests, on the other hand, are slightly less accurate, but can definitely help with detecting usage and buildups over a long time. The urine tests are the most common as they are cheaper and offer a window of a couple of weeks for the test to be accurate.

If you are going to use CBD oil that has less than 0.5% THC, then it is hard to get a positive result. A positive result is only possible if you get to use such CBD oil in large quantities. When we say large quantities, it means 2000mg or more each day.

Types of Tests

  1. Instant tests

These tests were originally developed for the parents who were concerned about what their teenage kids were doing. The tests use a dipstick with a corresponding color strip for checking if the person has used marijuana.

These tests will not hold much water in a legal sense. You just have to use them as a precursor to determine whether more tests should be conducted. There is no doubt that a second sample might be needed if more tests have to be carried out.

  1. Urine tests

These are the most common types of marijuana tests. You will simply have to offer a sample of your urine in a sealed plastic cup. The sample is split into two portions for testing. The first portion is for screening with the use of immunoassay analyzers.

In the event the first portion is positive, a confirmation is then obtained by using GS/MS method for the second portion.

  1. Saliva Tests

When it comes to saliva tests, they are used only to detect usage of drugs within a short timeframe. The method is not the best if the last time the person used it is over 24 hours. For a heavy user, you can get some traces, but it is not the best. When it comes to testing, saliva tests work just like urine tests. There are two separate portions to be tested for confirmation.

  1. Hair Tests

The hair tests are relatively good in accuracy. The test is also liked since hair has high retention time, unlike urine and saliva. With high retention, you can always know if the person has used it over time or not.

The hair test will measure for around 90 days. The test involves having haircuts close to the scalp. The hair is then liquefied and then subjected to GC/MS testing.

As much as hair test can be accurate, you get that it is more expensive than the urine tests.

  1. Blood tests

The test is just like any other marijuana test. The difference is that it comes with a high degree of accuracy. This is because it comes with better purity samples. You should definitely have better results when using this method. Find more about Epilepsy Awareness day. It is the reason you will find it being preferred to the other methods.
